This is Sherlock.
Lestrade and I made chocolate cookies today and we put nuts in some. Here they are:
And we ate some after dinner. Now Nicky and Mark and Carla and Paul have gone to their hotel but they're coming back in the morning. Tomorrow we're going to do some shopping and maybe ice skating and a museum or something fun.
Nicky was upset earlier because she and Lestrade were talking about their Mum but I gave her Argon and she fed her treats and I showed Paul the degu cage and told him how much bigger I want to make it with runs connecting the bits.
And I have to go to bed now because it's late and Lestrade let me have some pictures of crime scenes from his talk today but none of them have any bodies in them just some blood.

There's something I bet he thought he'd never give a child as a special treat. I' glad you enjoyed them, Sherlock. And if you're reading this, you should be asleep.
Sleep well Sherlock and have a great day tomorrow :-)
..yeah, weirdly these days it doesn't seem weird at all.
It's a special person who can support a child in his interests in an age/development appropriate way. Particularly when those interests are outside the mainstream.
Sherlock, those cookies look AMAZING. I love chocolate cookies with nuts in but never make them anymore. What sort of nuts did you use? Don't answer that until tomorrow though; it's not bedtime where I am.
Ah, that's done it. I'm going to spend my evening making chocolate cookies. Even the picture is making me hungry.
Thank you, Sherlock!

Those cookies look and sound so yummy. Trade some against my coffee chocolate chip ones, Sherlock?
Yes! Coffee chocolate chips ones sound brilliant. I can write out the recipe for this one if Lestrade tells me and you can tell me the coffee one I want to make them. Do they make you stay awake like coffee does?
We used pecan nuts because it was the only ones in the cupboard but Lestrade said he'd like to use macadamia or hazelnuts maybe next time.
I'll be interested in the recipe, too, Sherlock. My cookies turned out kind of flat and crunchy. I think yours look better.

I love macadamia nuts especially in combination with white chocolate.
I'd love to have the recipe, thank you for offering. I can't promise that I'll be able to post mine before monday evening though. I am at the airport right now and I am not sure wether my hostel has internet, but I'll try.
I'm not sure if they actually help you to stay awake. Probably a little bit given that you are not used to caffein and that I used a lot more coffee than the recipe asked for. They won't have any effect on Lestrade though.
L - have you seen Mycroft and Carla recently?
No. And neither has Anthea. Shit
Oh dear. Did she say where she saw them last?
They were with us in Harrods, well, near us.
What is it with these boys and that shop?
Should call Harrods and complain.
Still, at least we can be fairly sure they've gone off of their own accord. I hope.
Mycroft, I know you have your phone, wherever you are. At least tell us you're all right?
Teenagers are a law unto themselves! I hope they're located soon.
We're fine. Those security goons watching us and following us everywhere is totally boring. We've gone to have fun
Right, well. I'm glad you're all right. Please don't call them goons. They're good people and they're just trying to do their jobs.
Not boring from our end. You could have told us, you know? Glad you're okay though. Now answer your phones.
Sorry john dont let them be in trouble for losing us.
I don't think I have a lot of power over that, to be honest.
Someone's going to have a very boring Sunday, I think.
We do get it, you know, we know it cramps your style having security watching you all the time, but theyre only doing it because people think it's necessary. Just...be careful.
It's... Yeah. Just be careful, please.
I was sort of expecting this eventually.
I shall speak to Mummy and Anthea, John.
We are being careful, and we haven't done anything foolish. I'm sorry we didn't say anything, but I suspect you would have refused to allow us to go.
A naughty boy talking to mummy to smooth it over! Really?!
Honestly don't know if I would've or not. I do understand why you did it, but we will be taking about it later.
So you'd better go and have fun now.
Anonymous, John stated he had little or no control over any possible consequences for the security detail. I believe if I explain to Mummy she will see that they were not at fault.
Carla and I are quite prepared to face any punishment that Mummy, John or Nicky feel we should.
Although I fear by your tone that you are not in favour of anyone accused of any wrong-doing mounting a defence against the accusations, which I would disagree with regardless.
Thank you, John, we will have fun.
Mycroft, I do understand that having security around constantly would be annoying and feel claustrophobic. But after what happened to Lestrade not too long ago, I think the way you did it was beneath you.
You are a smart, intelligent young man. And yes, you have a right to fun and being rebellious as any teenager. But you have made you family worry, because of very real security concerns. Although you may be prepared for the consequences, I hope that you truly think about the kind of worry you may have caused John and Lestrade.
It's neither my right nor my responsibility to chastise you, and I'm sorry. But I had thought you would be more thoughtful of how your actions can hurt others.
It must be awful to be followed all the time mycroft, I don't agree with you running off on John and Greg but I can understand your desire just to be a teenager and have some fun.
Stay safe both of you and good luck with the conversation later.
Mycroft, I was going to suggest that perhaps you, your mum and Anthea, along with John and Lestrade, need to have conversation about your boundaries, now you'er getting older and more responsible. I firmly believe that you are of an age and maturity where you would be able to join in that conversation - even negotiate some concessions perhaps - in a constructive and useful way.
Of course, even bearing in the mind the maxim about forgiveness and permission, I can't help feeling that you may now have undermined any negotiating position you may have otherwise had...
OTOH, oh to be young again :-) Enjoy your fun together - safely - and good luck with your conversation later.
Before you all jump on Mycroft, remember a certain niece of mine will not have been a silent partner in this little scheme.
And I can't pretend I didn't do anything... silly, when I was their age.
Same here. And I imagine I would've done it soonerif iI had people watching me all the time. It's a difficult balance, safety versus freedom.
I'm slightly envious of the recklessness of youth :-)
But I suspect you also don't want the Internet cheering on evasion of the security teams without at least some stern looks and tutting to balance it out.
Lestrade - I suppose we know Mycroft and his situation rather better; it's much more difficult to comment on Carla's involvement. How're Nicky and Mark reacting?
Well...Carla is allowed out on her own, with her friends, at home. So they're not too worried about that part - although she doesn't know London, so obviously it's a bit more worrying.
More just disappointed in both of them, really.
But perhaps we're at fault, too, for not discussing this already.
Why isn't he in more trouble! John talked at me for AGES when I went out without permission. He should get sent to his room forever.
You were much younger, Sherlock, and on your own. And Mycroft will be spoken to.
(They are home, by the way - have been for a while. Just in case anyone was worried.)
Not so much worried, as just glad they're home safe :-)
Yeah, us too. Not that we ever doubted it...really.
It's a tough situation to deal with. I hope John, Anthea, Mrs Holmes and I can get it right, somehow.
I think I may have mentioned this article about teenage brains before, but it might warrant a reread. And, as I point out to the teens I work with, it isn't an excuse. It just means that they really do have a lot of influence with each other, so if they're going to apply peer pressure, it should be positive.
Good luck hashing out the situation with all the various adults, etc. I tend to agree with Mycroft that he and Carla have earned a punishment of some kind, mostly for the deception, and the thoughtlessness of the timing. And perhaps there should be some security lessons? What to watch out for and why?
Good luck, all. Glad everyone is home safe. As I say to the teen volunteers who fail to call when they don't show up for a scheduled shift, "You shouldn't be the only person who knows that you haven't been run over by a bus."

Mycroft I have no problem with people defending themselves when they have done wrong I do have a problem with u going over John's head to mummy when it was John you'd lied to BUT I now see that your intention was simply to make sure securty were not in trouble and to ensure you took all the blame so I am sorry for my misreading of yr intentions.
