Mycroft is back to school and exams. I think he did well and used a bit of quiet time during siesta to study, and also took his books to the bars with us sometimes, so we could sit and enjoy the fresh air and study.
John and I played quite a lot of backgammon on my phone, as well as watched the wrold go by.
I know a lot of people there - or at least they seem to know me! I don't remember most of them, but to be honest, no one remembers the young kids who hang onto them, do they? Anyway...yeah, slightly odd reactions to John and the boys - slightly moreso than in England, usually! But nothing too noteworthy.
The receptionist at the hotel looked very embarrassed and said that one of the rooms had a double bed...and even more embarrassed when I told him that was correct!
And here's Sherlock's spiritual home. He was the master of getting extra ice cream and free cream...

Back to reality but with amazing new memories and extremely special things that connect the four of you together where ever you are.
It sounds like a wonderful holiday for all of you and something even more special than that for you yourself Greg, I'm glad it was as wonderful as you planned it to be :-)
Good luck with your exams Mycroft and I hope the new job goes well whenever you actually start John :-)
I think I might want to live in the gelato shop photo...
Yay for a wonderful holiday and holiday memories! I hope it leads into a lovely stretch for you all.
It was really amazing. I hope we get to go back soon.
honeymoon destination? :-)
We wouldn't be allowed back without Sherlock and Mycroft...so perhaps not ;)
It was brilliant though. I really feel like...like they all know a bit more about me now.
The brilliant thing about the city is that it's been a constant in my life - it really doesn't change. There are even still some of the same faces in the shops and the piazza as I remember!
no maybe not then ;-)
I hope you haven't been working on paperwork all evening and that some lazing around discussing your holiday has been possible :-)
Done a bit of lazing.
Missing my after dinner espresso!
We've been trying to sort out sharing all the pictures we took...well, I say 'we'...phones and computers seem to do it themselves these days! It's completely confusing.
Ah, that explains who the "we" who took photos in the caves was--the phones!
Think anyone would notice if I escaped work?
I suspect given the pile of paperwork you came back to yesterday the answer is yes but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it ;-)
Stack the paper work up evenly like a wall, record the sound of you typing, set the recording playing and sneak out. If anyone sticks their head round the door they'll just think you're getting caught up. If the recording says 'give me a minute, just to get this little bit done' or equivalent every so often then you might be good for an hour or so!
Excellent plan Anon!
Sadly now out at a crime scene. Don't think I can escape this...
was it at least sunny at the crime scene? or actually would hot sun have made that a worse experience?
good luck with it.
Hot, yeah. But that didn't improve it!
390 vs 148, it wasn't even close! You've got to love the House of Lords!
I hope you're home now Greg :-)
How was your day John? productive I hope.
How was school Sherlock?
enjoy your evening guys.
Anon - I'm beginning to think they'll bring in the law before John and I have tied the knot!
AnonyBob - only just home! Shall need another holiday...
oh man that's not good! relax now, if you can and yes another holiday is a must :-)
We have to go back to try more ice cream and to see if the mad lady in the square gets justice and to see lots of other things and the caves again and go in the summer when the sea is really hot too.
Those sound like excellent reasons to go back Sherlock :-) I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday.
Ice cream and caves and warm swimming I understand (and would absolutely want to go back for!), but what mad lady in the square? (And mad crazy or mad angry?)
John says I shouldn't call her mad because Lestrade said she might not be but she had two dogs and walked in the square a LOT and the police headquarters is in the square and every time she saw a policeman she would start shouting really loudly and Lestrade said it was all about how they'd been mean to her but she would shout for ages and then at the end sing a song. Lestrade said she might be right and they were mean to her but when she was shouting and singing it did make her seem a bit mad even if she wasn't really and I have to go to bed now but I would have helped her if I could speak Italian and Lestrade could have but he wouldn't let me say to her he was a nice policeman in case she chased him.
That does sound a bit mad, but of course it is very hard to tell what is going on in other people's minds. It's very kind of you to want to help her, although I think Lestrade was right to not want to draw her attention, especially when he was on holiday.
'Night night, Sherlock!
No busy city square in Italy is complete without someone shouting at the masses. It's almost like there has to be someone about who will perform that service.
When I was a lad, whenever an unsuspecting priest, monk or nun appeared in that square this old guy would get on the steps and start telling us we would all be sent to hell, engulfed in fire and brimstone for our evil ways... The lady with the dogs has just taken over from him? And probably isn't mad, just...angry.
*considers* Given the choice, I'd prefer a harangue about injustice to one about fire and brimstone. (But then I suppose the point is not giving people a choice!)
