I think Mycroft thoroughly enjoyed time to laze by the pool, in the pool, in the sea, and not be under constant surprise attacks, or attention-seeking from anyone. When we got back he was floating on an inflatable in the pool, reading. No fear of being tipped in...
Here's where we ended up - it was a big sand dune. John floated somewhere at the bottom, letting the sea soothe him into a state of restful peace... until he was rudely interrupted by certain people.
As you can see by the right corner of the picture, the dune got a lot steeper, so was perfect for running down to launch our attack...
I think we're having another lazy day today, although apparently there are some roman ruins nearby, so we might go and visit those. Then think about going home...

Another lazy day sounds wonderful--but I think I'd opt for (lazily!) exploring some Roman ruins, myself. It's not like we have any of those in the US!

No, but I have to get back to work and the boys both need to go to school, so life must go on.
Well, you like your job, work I always liked the start of a new school year, so it's not all bad.
Especially with memories of a magical vacation to take back home with you. :)
I don't think any of us are looking forward to Mycroft going back. It's a pleasure having him around.
Yeah, there's no upside to that part that I could see. (Which is why I didn't mention it.) At least both you and John can buzz up to see him this year, though! (Even if he'd rather have you do any picking up. :))
I have to say that we miss mycroft around here when he's at school so I can only imagine what its like for you lot! Hopefully you can make use of as much of his free time as possible for little adventures :-)

Yes, on the way home. Have had to pull Sherlock out of the pool three times, and Mycroft had to catch him as he made an escape attempt to the beach... but now he is safest strapped in the car, and we'be left.

We're home. Tired and home. Thanks for laying on the good weather for us. Would have been a nasty shock to come home to rain.

Yeah, both the boys are back tomorrow. But Mycroft doesn't go back until the evening, so we can all go with him and see him into his new room (very exciting - you get your own room in the second year, after sharing for the first year.)
I've stopped John doing the laundry. It can wait. I did turn all the socks the right way in though...

A room of one's own is a VERY big deal, and I can only imagine how much more desirable in a school situation.

Yep, it won't go anywhere! A day (or at least an evening) to decompress a bit is an excellent idea.

Sherlock - I hope you have a fun day at school with Mrs N, and get to do some interesting stuff.
Mycroft - I hope that this term is peaceful for you, and that having your own room gives you some breathing space if things get a bit tough.
Lestrade - you back tomorrow too? Hopefully work won't be too painful to go back to (sometimes it feels like the paperwork just breeds and multiplies when you're on holiday, doesn't it?).
John - I hope the sudden change of pace isn't too disorienting, and that you take at least some advantage of the peace and quiet over the next few days.

I just got home too, having spent the weekend with internet access once in a while, but not when I had a keyboard, or much time to read. I think your adventures were probably better -- macaques and Africa and all! But I did get to be at the World Science Fiction Convention and play for four days straight. I got to vote for it to be held in London in 2014, too. You might like to go then, because it isn't all fiction, there's a lot of science. This year we had an astronaut and a former mission control guy as guests, giving talks. And there's a dealer's room. I went with one suitcase inside the other and came back with two suitcases, one full of books. (And I mean FULL!)
I hope some progress has been made on the mysterious photographer, even if it's just eliminating possibilities. And I'm happy to hear that Sherlock has really honed his swimming skills. That will make diving lessons much more possible if he still wants them.
