Yesterday was just fantastic. John's face when he got back home to find me...went from a frown, obviously worrying why I was home so soon...so wide eyed open-mouthed amazement as I held up the tickets.
Mrs H was great. I asked her about it at the weekend, and she said she'd see what she could do. A few hours later I had a name and an address I had to go and pick them up from :)
She said, and I agreed, that John deserved one last day of freedom and fun on his own (well, with me hanging on) before the summer holiday hit and he was being used for entertainment by Sherlock 24/7. Well - apart from when John's at his other work. It'll be a nice rest for him ;)
So, yeah, I had a bit of a crash course in tennis.
Today was work. Lots of catching up. And in the middle of it all Family decided it would rear its head. Danny is...being a complete pain in the arse.
Still, got home to find a few caterpillars have...chrysallisified themselves. (Whatever it's really called).
I have a feeling we may need to shift them off the dying nettle they are attached to. We'll see.
Now listening to more music for the wedding.

It always strikes me as sort of miraculous, these total transformations by such small beings.
I'm sure that one day you find the perfect song for the wedding but I know that for someone who has so much music it really has to be right!
I really think family should be an optional extra in life. pick the ones you want and discard the ones you don't because I'm sure more people would be happy if they didn't feel tied to family!!
(I'm sorry Danny took some of the shine off yesterday's happiness--or tried to.)
AnonyBob - I will! But yeah, needs to be right. And needs to be the right length...and all sorts :) Fun finding it, though.
RR - Thanks. He didn't, though. New day, new problems. Doesn't stop yesterday being amazing.
Good. (Not good that there are new problems, good that yesterday's glow isn't tarnished. :))
When my sister got married she walked down the isle to The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. After the wedding, she and her new husband ran down to a boat that was waiting for them, and the song was Rainbow Connection from the Muppets. Sometimes, you just have search until you find the perfect match!
We've got lots of details to sort out...who's walking where, all that. So I'm just browsing nice music at the moment.
night all.
My best wedding music story is of an error: I was at a friend's very formal, very religious wedding, and the music stopped so that her brother could sing the next prayer, so they turned on the mike. Only, whoever was doing the switching from band to brother hit the wrong switch, and we got the sound system instead, with Frank Sinatra singing "The Lady is a Tramp". So much for formality!
"Browsing nice music" is a lovely way to spend an evening--especially for such a happy reason! :)
G'night!
Hey guys how goes the day?
I hope the day is behaving for you whatever you're up to :-)
Be better if people stopped shooting and stabbing each other!
Hope yours is going well.
Yeah I can imagine that that might put a crimp on your day :-(
Criminals really do ruin people's days!!
Be nice just to call a truce for a week or two so we could catch up.
L - think you'll get to leave on time tonight? I've got sort of a surprise for you...
Be a bit late, I think. What sort of surprise?
Well...the kind that's not exactly a surprise, in that we ordered it a while ago... :)
Um... Can only think of Sherlock's shorts we ordered? They're not that exciting. You'll have to help me?
How's the tennis?
You'd better just wait and see. ;) You'll like it though.
The tennis is good! Murray came back from two sets down and he's through to the semis.
(Oooh, I have a guess! :))
Ah, shot, sorry. I got it. That is very exciting. Have you looked? They ok? Sorry, my head is all over the place.
Glad Murrays thrpugh
Haven't looked, no. I wanted to wait till you got home. Difficult, given how Sherlock feels about unopened parcels.
Thanks :). It'll be nice opening them with you
Hands off, Sherlock !
Hurryyyyy I want to see!
I'm on the way!
They're great.
Feels a million times more real now.
And am terrified they will somehow be lost before the big day.
Can't wait until I have this little sign that I'm yours with me every day :)
Me too. It'll be hard to wait - and I'm glad we have at least a tentative date to aim for now.
We need to make it a firm date, really. I mean...we can, now. And then...then we can send out invites, and register the venue/date...all that.
Yeah...we're really making progress now! It's great. :)
