Anyway, nothing we can do now until we get the reports back. And I won't be in then, because I'm off for two days. But the team will tell me.
So, rather more cheerfully, have this video. I mentioned it to John for the wedding. He picked other songs instead ;) Then I showed it to Sherlock the other day. He is now obsessed :)
Glad to be spreading my musical influence around. Screamin' Jay was the boxing champion of Alaska, in case you didn't know...
John didn't think he'd be able to keep a straight face if we had it in the wedding :)
Mycroft baked bread!
Guess who stuck their finger in the dough...
Rolls! Which didn't, despite expectations at one point, consume the entire street.
And Sherlock picked tomatoes from the allotment this morning. All have been eaten...
Now for three days off. We're going to go an adventure tomorrow. And then...usual last minute scramble to make sure the boys have everything they need. Mainly clothes, especially for Mycroft, given he doesn't have that many opportunities to get more.
Was thinking about posting some wedding flowers...but you've had so many pics already this post! You'll have to wait ;)

I'm sorry you had that case today, L. There's obviously nothing you could have done to make anything better--but with someone that didn't care, who wasn't sensitive, coming in, it could have made it so much worse, so. I'm sorry it was you, but for them, I'm glad it was someone who cares.
Those tomatoes look amazing! And so do the rolls. :)
Have fun on your adventure tomorrow. y'all!
Sorry you've had to deal with that today, Greg, cases with children must be the hardest things, but I'm sure they would have appreciated your calm, delicate handling of an awful situation. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be one of those small percentage ones.
I'm with John on the Screamin' Jay song, a great one, but maybe not wedding day, straight-faced material. I bet that hand must have freaked them out for the time.
Those rolls look fab, I'm sure they'll by delicious on your picnic if that's what they're for tomorrow.
Enjoy your last couple of days with the boys. :)
There are only certain officers who deal with cases of infant death. We've had all the training. What language to use. Little things like making sure only plain clothes officers attend, and turning off the sound on all mobiles/radios, to keep the house peaceful.
I didn't seriously suggest Screamin' Jay for the wedding - just wanted to text John, check he wasn't just agreeing to anything I suggested ;)
If you'd been set on it, I probably would've said yes.
...test, not text.
You're far too soft on me, Doc.
Just the right amount, I think. Do you know where you want to go tomorrow?
Nah, think you're waaaay too soft on me.
I mean, I got home to a meal and a beer and washed shirts!
And they say I'm a soppy sod :)
Don't know where to go. Just follow our noses? Unless the boys or you have strong feelings.
I got home to a meal and a beer and washed shirts!
Ha, possibly you're too easily pleased ;)
No, no strong feelings. Anywhere's good. A small adventure.
nope, fairly sure you just don't realise how special you are to do things like that, plus entertain two boys all day.
Well...thanks. :)
I will attempt to show you how grateful I am ;)
If its any consolation, I think you're both soppy sods :-)
Now that you've decided you're both as wonderful as each other ;) I hope you all have a great day out, whenever your adventure may take you.
Have fun :)
Have a great mini-adventure and enjoy the bread rolls, guys.
I'll second SH and hope you all have a geat adventure, too!
Amazing day for it. Sunny, but not yet too hot. Utterly beautiful.
Brilliant bread too! Very tasty.
It sounds like you lot are having an excellent adventure! :) Enjoy!
Have you decided where to go yet, or are you doing the eeny-meeny-miney-mo method of navigation?
We sort of decided...
And Mycroft got us pulled over by the police ;)
Sherlock was delighted, naturally.
never a dull moment with you four is there ;-)
Not every day they stop a criminal gang and their youngest member greets the officers with 'can I get in your car?'
And then remembers to add 'please' a few seconds later...
Now Mycroft is protesting his innocence and John is trying to persuade Sherlock not to tell everyone at school that we were 'nearly arrested' and that it was 'brilliant'...
Listen, when you ask for adventure, you have to expect something adventure-y to happen! :)
What is it that Mycroft got you pulled over for?
I like Sherlock's response better than my sister's; she asked if the officer was going to shoot us! To be fair, she was much younger and had made a habit of sneaking into the living room after bedtime, to watch the wrong sort of television. I thought my Grandma was going to die of mortification.
It was not my fault.
I believe you--but you must be quite ruffled, to post that on the wrong blog. You okay, Mycroft? (And what was it that the police thought you did?)
Oops, my bad! On my ipod this looked like John's blog. You posted on the right blog, and I have to pay more attention!
(But are you okay, Mycroft?)
Got stopped and searched for suspicious behaviour. The officers were very nice about it all. It was no big deal. We were slowly cruising around streets looking at different houses. Someone called us in thinking we were casing places. Totally understandable.
A small-adventure-sized stop, then. :)
(Did you decide which house to break into? :D)
I still don't see how it could possibly have been Mycroft's fault, of the four of you he seems the most sensible and least likely to be suspicious.
Were you looking at architectural details, window shopping, or deducing things about the people who lived in the houses?
are you buying yourselves a wedding present?
RR - rest assured we wouldn't be joking about on here if either of the boys was distressed about it all.
SH - we stopped by that particular place because Mycroft asked to see it, from a social history point of view, regarding town planning and what a town all planned at once would be like and how it worked today.
Hence all his fault ;)
Lucky they didn't do us for going equipped! I do always have my tool kit, when we're out of town. :)
I didn't think anything else! (Ruffled isn't the same as distressed.)
Has Sherlock put a spell on anyone yet?
Anyone else glued to the transfer window?
*cautiously* ... transfer window?
of course!! I'm thinking you want to sign some while I'm hoping we don't lose any ;-)
Very much hoping for Ozil - shame about Ba.
Sounds like we have him!
RR - football players being bought and sold. Window closes tonight, doesn't re-open until Jan. So it's massive money and very last minute... 43 mins left to buy/sell players.
I'm glad you got him, hopefully looking good for the season now :-)
That sounds...I'm not sure whether it sounds more exciting or confusing. :)
no official confirmation, AnonyBob - but.. YES! Just confirmed! 5 year deal. 42.4million, I think?
42.4 is peanuts really isn't it considering the big one of the day which was also good news for you :-)
It is. I mean, disgusting amount of money in football... but yeah, glad that RM needed to sell some players. I think he'll be good for us.
RR - it's both. And frustrating, when you don't get the player you want for some reason. It's a completely mad scramble with unimaginable amounts of money flying around.
I just see numbers nowadays Greg, it can't be real money, they are mad figures!
I wasn't... but I am now :-p
I think at this stage Man U are running about waving wads of money at anyone who can lace up a football boot... ;)
AnonyBob - I know! Sherlock asked me about it earlier. Hard to explain how one footballer can be worth 85.3 million quid.
...and the transfer window is closed...
Not too bad for us. :)
Well, that was a deeply unedifying spectacle. Glad it went better for you, L :-)
Nameless - I won't quite believe anything until the dust settles tomorrow ;)
Yeah, the BBC are now saying it looks like Moyes got Fellaini after all...
If Moyes didn't get anyone then Man U will have to stop calling Arsene tight fisted!
Just been confirmed - Fellaini, 27.5 million quid.
It's funny, but the numbers never stop being unbelievable.
Lucky other professions don't work the same way...
"The Met have sold a DS and two DIs to Thames Valley, and sent a PC to Hull on season-long loan. Meanwhile St Barts has bought a heart surgeon, but the deal on the aneasthetist fell through, and they've released a midwife to free transfer down to Torquay."
new song for you Lestrade
Carzola to the left of me, Ozil to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle Giroud
Brilliant, Anon! :)
Ha, excellent.
Right. Bed. And trying not to think about giving Mycroft back to school tomorrow :(
It's a good thing we've got Sherlock to stamp his foot and say it's unfair, or we might try that ourselves… Yeah, bed. It's late.
Hope you enjoy your last day together. Just keep thinking it's not too long 'til the first weekend home and you can always go and visit when missing him gets too much.
Have a great term, Mycroft, I'm sure you'll be brilliant as always.
Have a great day everyone. :)
Enjoy your term Mycroft. At least you won't have to hang out with suspicious looking dudes wearing flipflops and dodgy shorts who brilliantly get you nearly arrested.
Have a good day guys and have a good time back at school Mycroft :-)
Enjoy the new term, Mycroft. Hope you all have a good day together today.
Thank you everyone.
I am currently packing.
Lestrade and John are distracting Sherlock with baking.
I hope you all have a good day together. Enjoy the new term, Mycroft!
Enjoy your new term, Mycroft--and the results of the baking spree! :)
Mycroft has enough food to last until next year now...
It's as well to be stocked up. You know, in case of zombie attacks or locusts or teenage boys... ;D
What did you bake?
it's very quiet. Too quiet. Not tripping over dog toys, or dogs... no fielding arguments between brothers..
its weird how crowded madness becomes normal so quickly isn't it?!
I hope you're having a good evening even though it feels strange.
:(
When's he coming home for a weekend? Soon?
