I've been staring at this cursor for a while, and I've no idea what to write about.
Busy day at work. But nothing...special.
Mum's going home this week. Not sure how I feel about that.
So...anything you lot want to ask?
Work, London, Life, Me...anything.
And have a letter that caught my eye from The Guardian at the weekend:
If badgers are indeed responsible for the decline of hedgehogs and bumblebees (Letters, 4 May), they are clearly cunning and devious enough to play the waiting game, living in balance with these species since the ice age, biding their time and waiting to launch their attack just as we began to spray pesticides and pave over our gardens.

Do you want to go out to dinner sometime this week? Murray's volunteered to babysit.
Why do my quotes always come out sodding white??
That was a perfect question. Yeah, I'd love to. Any night in particular?
Murray and Sherlock, what could possibly go wrong?
Oh. I fixed it. Wonders never cease.
Anon - everything, I fear...
L - Thursday?
Got a bit distracted because I thought it said Stuart Damon, who I considered to be the pinnacle of Human evolution when I was little.
God, I'm old
Lancs. Anon
Lancs. - as in Craig Stirling, one of The Champions of law, order and justice? :)
Danger - I'll try to get Friday off, to recover, shall I?
Hey, it's not as if I'm cooking... ;)
Yeah, sounds good. Anywhere in particular you want to go, or should I surprise you?
I don't know. Surprise me, I guess? Just...nothing too surprising.
Right, one relatively normal surprise coming up. No cage beds or spicy death curries.
Sorry. Feel terribly boring.
But yes, no death curries would be good.
You are anything but boring, love. I'll find something good, don't worry.
I have every faith in you.
I'll return the favour in Italy. Although sadly without a babysitter on hand.
Can't wait. :)
I've got a two-part question, if you're still in the mood to answer one. If you had a wanted to see the touristy places what are the three places you would tell them to visit?
And if later on, you had a different visitor, who wanted to go to non-touristy places, which three would you send them to?
Had a *visitor* who wanted... (Silly computer eats words!)
You mean in London?
London or nearby. But probably London.
I'll have a think.
Although like all things, it really depends on the person.
True. Think people who've never been to England then, no matter how much they've read about it.
Are you looking forward to seeing any of this year's big summer movies (and if yes, which)?
Seeing as you are going to Italy, I'll go for the obvious: Opera, enjoy it?
Did you ever find out why Sherlock made a shaving cream mountain in the sink?
RSF - I'll think about it. It would still rather heavily depend on if it were, say, Sherlock or my Mum, though.
Anon - I'm not even sure which big movies there are! I'd quite like to see Iron Man, I suppose. I've seen the others, and thought they were quite entertaining.
Kestrel - I'm afraid it's a bit lost on me...
Right, going to bed. But still feel free to leave questions, I'll answer tomorrow.
Anon - Frequently don't know why Sherlock does what he does!
Here's a gastronomical one: As someone who is a complete wimp when it comes to hot spices, what are the essential spices you use to add flavor to a dish without adding heat?
Erm, that didn't come out as I meant it to. I meant *I* am a complete wimp when it comes to hot spices, and am looking for flavoring advice.
Now that it's in my head, I might as well ask... Sherlock, was there a specific reason (other than wanting to know what it feels like) that you made a shaving cream mountain in the sink? (Not that there needs to be another reason, actually. :))
Hey, L--do you have an all-time favorite movie?
L - places in the UK you'd like to go back to/show John and/or the boys?
Yes, L. precisely that Stuart Damon. I had one of those chimps to humans diagrams in an encyclopedia when I was little and I swear that the final stage was Stuart Damon!

Favourite movie - I have a huge soft spot for Breakfast at Tiffany's. I really can't explain why. Memories of first seeing it, the movie itself...it all just combines.
Mind you, have a similar love for Crocodile Dundee!
I love the scene in the subway in Crocodile Dundee, very romantic.
Love Breakfast at Tiffany's. Also Searching for Bobby Fisher, which for some odd reason is one of my comfort dvds.
Lancs. - I suppose I saw the repeats, although at the time It was all new to me. Loved The Champions, and The Man From UNCLE! When they used to show them on BBC2 at 6pm I got a bit nostalgic!
(I am thinking about your other questions, folks)
Breakfast at Tiffany's is wonderful! (My favorite is Casablanca--and my comfort movies is Singin' in the Rain. :))
Hope everyone is having a more or less good day!
Lestrade, would you mind telling the story of your first kiss? I have a feeling it's a story worth hearing.
If that's too personal, what about the first time you rode a bike? Can't remember if you've ever said.
I love the title. That song is amazing..."writing frightening verse to a bucktooth girl in Luxembourg" is one of the greatest lines ever.
Been forced to stop for second breakfast in a pretty little village. Was all very idyllic until a couple of bikers turned up ;)
Anon - I'll answer in a post.
SH - i can't really think of anywhere I'd like to take them? My best memories are the ones theyve been there for. I'd like to go back in time, take John to some clubs I used to go to ;)
RSF - I think the London Eye is great. And the parks. Not sure if they're touristy or not? Tower of London is pretty good. And just getting one of the commuter boats on the Thames is a good way of seing the city from a different perspective. You'd need to go to a proper pub, too, to get a good idea of the culture. And the museums are all good - and free.
second breakfast? who could refuse that ;-)
You sound like you're making the most of the day, I'm glad you're having fun :-)
And tomorrow will be even better...though we've been told not to make a fuss about it. ;)
yeah totally not worth a fuss or anything that ;-)
Tomorrow is Op Kidnap and Entertain, yeah.
Anyway. Dance time. John has said my tracky bums are 'verging on obscene'...they are...more threadbare than I thought.
To be fair, I meant it in a good way...
I was about to say that I dont know how the crotch got so worn... Bt then I remembered this lot would be only too willing to offer ideas.
Maybe I should just wear shorts.
Ha!
I have a horrible feeling that tomorrow morning muscles I didn't even know I had will be hating me and making me feel ancient.
I Hope the dance lesson is proceeding well!
And tomorrow will be even better...though we've been told not to make a fuss about it. ;)
Let the Wild Rumpus begin! :D
Well...we survived. Just.
Now have to survive the park. Where Murray has foolishly said he'll meet us before coming home and being Sherlock's minion - I mean babysitter.
It'll be fiiiiineeeeee. You two worry way too much! I'll have him all sugared up for you when you get home.
See you say we worry too much, then follow it up with that... A nice early night and some knockout pills for him would suit us ;)
Have fun Murray. I find myself glad I'm a good distance away from London tonight ;-)
Enjoy dinner guys :-)
Sherlock, Murray--are you having fun together?
Enjoy your dinner out, John and L. :)
Murray bought me a gun and it's red and blue and green and yellow and it blows out BUBBLES and it's brilliant and I bet the dogs will love it because they chase bubbles and bite them and I want to see if the degus will chase them too.
Okay, that is seriously cool! (And it was very nice of Murray. :)) It will be very interesting to see if the degus like the bubbles, and fun finding out!
Well that sounds kind of interesting Sherlock.
I'm glad you're having fun :-)
We're leaving the flat...through a wall of bubbles.
John won't tell me where we're going, so I put on a suit. I don't think his eyebrows have yet descended from his hair. They've made nests up there and aren't ever coming down again.
If you can't wear a nice whistle when going on a date with your man, when can you??
(And yes, he ran off and rang the front doorbell ;) Got shot with bubbles for his trouble...)
I fully expect to come home and find the door boobytrapped with bubbles...
You do look very nice. :)
Enjoy your date, gents :-)
Enjoy your bubbles, Murray and Sherlock :-)
Enjoy your date gentlemen :-D
You look very nice too. And the food here looks great!
I'm very lucky you put up with me, Doctor Watson - and bring me to such nice places. :)
It does, doesn't it? I think Mycroft would like it here too.
I'm lucky I have you to take nice places. Love you.
Love you too.
This wine is fantastic. This food is fantastic. You are fantastic.
Hope you all have a wonderful evening! It sounds like a great fun is being had by all. :)
Murray made me a chocolate and banana toasted sandwich IT WAS AMAZING BETTER THAN YOUR WINE.
Chocolate and banana is a yummy combo, for sure! It sounds like you're having a good evening, Sherlock--did your degus like the bubbles?
They didn't chase them they just looked at them and tried to sniff them.
We're making them an assault course through the whole sitting room.
I guess they were surprised when the bubbles burst!
I bet they'll be nicely entertained by a full-roon assault course. :)
So Murray, 3C and me are just going to get a hotel for the night. You'll be fine staying over, yeah? Make sure to warm Sherlock's milk in the morning. ;)
The comma between, Murray and 3C, is not there to make it into a list, can't tell you where my mind went :)
I'm not going to bed! I bet I could stay up. I told Murray to make coffee in your coffee pot you needed twenty spoons of coffee and I was allowed to press the button on the grinder and sorry if it's a bit nutmeggy now but nutmeg is nice.
You will be sorry if you do that I think.
...last comment meant for Greg, not Sherlock.
Anon - Murray's a nice bloke, but I don't think I'm his type.
Sherlock - is that your way of telling me you've tried to grind up a nutmeg in my coffee grinder?
Murray - sadly I think somewhere in my contract there's probably a clause about not doing anything that recklessly endangers the city. So we probably will be home.
(A little nutmeg is nice in warm milk... :))
But not in my coffee.
the worst I ever came home to was a babysitter who had reorganised my kitchen cupboards, I suspect nutmeg in your coffee grinder is a worse thing than that Greg ;-)
It made LOADS of noise.
I can't find my toothbrush. John said I mustn't ever go to bed without brushing my teeth so I can't go to bed.
Hiding your toothbrush is not the same as not being able to find it. Even if you genuinely forgot where it was until we found it. In the fridge.
There's a new one in our room in a Boots bag on top of the wardrobe. Murray can reach it. You're going to bed.
We'll be back in a bit, we'll come and say goodnight if you're still awake.
oh, John says it was located. Good.
