I don't care if the ocean gets rough, Just a little is enough

I don't know what to write about tonight.

I'm glad I've got tomorrow off. I hope John doesn't get called in too much, but...then again it's kind of nice, doing the school run, spending time with Mycroft. And knowing John's out there doing what he's trained to :) Although given it's meant to be another nice day, much better if he does get to stay with us and relax, I suppose.

I've been writing my vows. Trying to. It's hard, thinking of things you want to declare in front of everyone. Easy thinking of things to say just...to John.

Work was pretty bad today. We're not quite sure what's happened, but it involved a severely overflowing toilet, a body and the body of a dog. It's...possibly suicide? But we're waiting on the pm results. The smell was quite something. But you get used to it.

Got another meeting on human trafficking on Friday to look forward to. Hopefully only the morning, though, so I can get to Sherlock's sport's day in the afternoon.

I love you, John. And I've no idea how to make you feel better about your ability to sustain this relationship. And I really wish I did. Other than, you know, just living it.

Here's a song I found on YouTube when I was searching for wedding songs. I loved this so much when it came out. So, so much.

I like that song too. And I love you. I don't think you need to do anything except just...be you. Which you're pretty good at. :)

Greg Lestrade said...

You're good at being you, too. And you're the man I fell in love with :)

Hope you all have a good day today and enjoy the sunshine.

Sherlock has already declared he won't enjoy it, owing to the conspiracy of unfairness against him - which he said was age discrimination.

The other three of us are out having a lazy coffee /tea. :)

John has been called away. Luckily he was dressed at the time - we had been having suits fitted earlier.

Lestrade is now forcing me into some form of vulgar public display, akin to busking, except I am sure no one will attempt to give us money.

Now I'm curious as to what kind of public display you would be performing, Mycroft. Whatever it is, I hope it's fun!

Small Hobbit said...

Mycroft - maybe they will pay you to go away ;)

L - Does this mean you have settled on the type of suits you want?

Greg Lestrade said...

Yes to suits :) we already prety much knew... Now theyre being adjusted for us.

We're not busking! We're just laying our guitars in the park in the sunshine! Were in a quiet spot, not many people around.

Guitars go very well outside (even without a campfire :)). It sounds like fun--enjoy!

SH- I had a similar thought. Too much early exposure to 'Amahl and The Night Visitors', I suppose.

Music outdoors is a delightful thing. I love seeing folks who are that happy and enjoying something that much. Public music; I'm all for it!

I've had a brilliant day. We're hoping John might escape before the end of his shift... But not banking on it.

Mycroft is a very good guitarist. Also very precise... So our playing styles are... Contrasting :)

Sherlock has just challenged me to fit an entire rocket ice lolly in my mouth. An serious adult would refuse, right? Lucky I'm not one.

John H. D. Watson said...

Did you manage it?

REReader said...

Did Sherlock? (Manage it, that is... :))

Greg Lestrade said...

I did!

He didn't. Not that he cared. He got to eat it, which I'm fairly sure was the point!

REReader said...

Congratulations! ;)

Oh, absolutely! (And also the fun of the challenge.)

Sherlock said...

I nearly did! I bet Mycroft could have because he has a big mouth but he didn't try.

REReader said...

Well, practice makes perfect! :D

Greg Lestrade said...

He may or may not have a big mouth (pot, kettle) but he does have a sense of decorum, unlike some.

Greg Lestrade said...

Think you'll be home soon after 7 Danger? We've cooked you a nice dinner. And pudding!

John H. D. Watson said...

Just leaving now, so yes, hopefully not too long!

Greg Lestrade said...

(Sherlock threw himself at John the moment John was in the door. True love? Desperate for gory details? You decide...)

(Bit of both, in my opinion)

REReader said...

(All good things in one!)

Sherlock said...

We made tomato tart with cheese and then for pudding we made like a trifle with raspberries and cream and biscuit and something called a cooly which is like a sauce.

REReader said...

That sounds like a perfectly wonderful summer dinner! (Especially the trifle-like pudding--I adore raspberries, and cream, too.) Did you have lots?

John H. D. Watson said...

And it was all delicious!

Sherlock said...

I could have eaten more. But John said I wouldn't run as fast tomorrow if I did because I'd be too heavy with cream.

Lestrade said it was a coulis but you say that the same as cooly.

REReader said...

John has a point there!

It's good to know how to spell something AND how to say it, so thank you, Sherlock. (It looks like a really nice thick sauce on the internet.)

Greg Lestrade said...

Sherlock...I've got something to show you, as you've been very well behaved today.

You can see on the condition that if you haven't watched them all by bedtime, you still go to bed with no fuss. It'll all still be there in the morning, okay?

Sherlock said...

I want to see!

Greg Lestrade said...

I think John wants to see as much as you do...

No one who has a blood phobia follow any of these links...

Greg Lestrade said...

(complete silence has descended, and Sherlock is even sitting nicely with Mycroft, watching.)

John H. D. Watson said...

We're all hypnotised...

REReader said...

They are strangely compelling.

Greg Lestrade said...

I had no idea they'd be online. One of the forensic technicians, Chris, told me.
