Nothing inspires forgiveness quite like revenge...

Well, we've (you've) all had lots of fun laughing at my fashion sense back when I was a lad. One of you in particular has had really far too much enjoyment out of it all.

Happily, John Hamish, a little something dropped into my mail box last night...

Yes, everyone, this is my gorgeous boyfriend:
Harry's words, accompanying this picture "And this was before he decided he was properly gay, if you can believe it." Hah. Well, he certainly looks happy! And really very, very attractive. I can't actually write on this blog quite what my reaction would have been had I seen him in my local pub...

However, it seems that the food-hanging-out-of-his-mouth problem wasn't just a one off...I said he was gorgeous, right?

Oh...Johnny. Although I think it's safe to say I'd still better not write what my reaction to seeing him in my local would have been...um....

Mrs Holmes, are you sure this is the man you want working for you? I mean, he does still do this at mealtimes. His table manners are worse than the Degus'...

In other news, Mrs H and Danger apparently have a 'pleasant surprise' in store...hmmmmmmm. My interest is piqued.

Oh, Doc. How....lovely. *snicker*
Thanks, Harry!

My interest is piqued.

Sounds like your interest isn't the only thing that's piqued... ;)

isn't he lovely? Well...lovely-ish, when he hasn't got...breadsticks? hanging out of his gob.

LOL! Nice revenge, Lestrade!

If nothing else, he looks like he was having fun!

Greg Lestrade said...

He certainly does. And probably will right up until he sees this entry, when he'll try to kill me :)

Still, I did say, way back here: http://interestingmurders.blogspot.com/2011/03/help-i-need-somebody.html

that he still eats like that. Proof, if any were needed, just keeps rolling in...

You sound like you're talking with your mouth full...

And really, Danger, only you can answer why you always have food hanging out of your mouth.

The first one is lovely! You look adorable.

Ooh, he's all Larry Grayson in that first one, isn't he? But like you said, lovely and adorable :-)

Greg Lestrade said...

He does 'seem like a nice boy' ;)

Oh, he's quite adorable, breadsticks or no.

I just met two sweet degus at a pet store, and had to tell them that no, they cannot come home with me. I thought of you all when I saw them. They were very very eager to come out and play with me, so I had to break it to them gently.

Greg Lestrade said...

They are very eager little things! I've got to say, I think I'm as attached to ours as Sherlock is.

1st picture: fabulous!
2nd picture: T-Rex impersonation?

I hope you're having a lovely weekend, and that we all get to hear about this "pleasant surprise" soon.

Your degus are adorable, and I wish I could have some of my own. Did they have any trouble being around the dogs?

These are indeed lovely pictures. I'm sure Danger is delighted that Harry sent them to you.

If his table manners are worse than the goos does this mean he bites you if you don't let go of his food quickly enough?

*blinks*

He seems to be having quite a good time, anyway.., :D

Greg Lestrade said...

SH - yeah, he's got a nasty little nip on him. Bet they let him go first in line in the canteen in the army.

RR, he does. An even better time in some of the other pictures...

Harry did apologise they weren't better pics - but it was the early days of digital cameras. No HD million megapixels back then, sadly, or I'd have some of these pics blown up and put on the wall. That first one is just lovely.

If that doesn't terrify John, nothing will! :D

Small mercies...

RR - I am truly afraid.

Greg Lestrade said...

Don't be afraid. I've survived ...so far

REReader said...

I'm an evil , evil person for enjoying your battle of the photos this much...

John H. D. Watson said...

I'm sorry to say I don't have any of you that are worse than these.

Greg Lestrade said...

Hmmmm. How many more DO you have of me??

John H. D. Watson said...

Two or threei think, not many. Always on the lookout for more of course...

Greg Lestrade said...

Hmmm. Ah well, I'll got for quality over quantity. Speaking of which, I might have to throw you over my shoulder and take you to bed...

John H. D. Watson said...

That'd be good. I'm going to fall asleep right here otherwise.

Greg Lestrade said...

right. I'll try not to bash your head on any doorframes. But I can't be held responsible for any actions when your bum is that close to my face...

REReader said...

See you in the morning... :)

L, it's clear that John was so secure in his stunning looks that he knew he could pull all the silly faces he wanted and still not harm his chances of romance. And that's before he did any underwear modeling!

Desert Wanderer said...

You know, Lestrade, I meant to say before how awesomely sweet it is how smitten you are. I think you'd be.hard-pressed to find a happier pair of people. <3

Desert Wanderer said...

Also, feel free to take back this sleeplessness any time. There's got to be someone who really deserves it we could pass it on to?

Greg Lestrade said...

I can think of a few people, yeah.

Sorry, it is miserable, isn't it.

And yeah, smitten...I certainly am :) what can I say, John is just an amazing person.

Desert Wanderer said...

I think the worst part is not being able to fix it. Things should have solutions!

REReader said...

I deeply sympathize, DW--I don't want to be awake now, either. (5 hours isn't enough, I don't care what you say, L!) Ah, well, maybe I'll catch a nap later.

Are you on your way for lunch with Mycroft now?

Greg Lestrade said...

DW - short of a wipe clean and reboot of my entire brain, I think I've given up on a lot of things having solutions.

RR - yeah, off on the tube up to see him. Without Degus. Sherlock was eventually made to leave the flat, so one of us could check the goos were still in their cage before locking up.

Ria - the Goos and the dogs seem to ignore each other, mainly. The dogs just laze about in the kitchen, generally, or in Mycroft's room. But we are careful there's no goo/dog surprise meetings!

REReader said...

Your brain is fine the way it is. Leave it alone--no rebooting!

Well, the degus do have their new cage arrangement to play in, they'll be fine for a few hours. (I am loving how good Sherlock is with them--it's really wonderful and very impressive. If ocassionally inconvenient for you!)

Have fun with Mycroft--say hi from me, please!

REReader said...

FYI--it's now 16F in NYC (-9C), going up to 16F (-4C) and feels very nearly that cold in this apartment. *goes to find a warmer robe*

REReader said...

How was your day at Harrow? How's Mycroft?

Greg Lestrade said...

Mycroft seems fine. He's always a little reserved when we visit him. I think he feels like he has to be a good host or something! But he says he's having a good enough time, catching up with what everyone did for Christmas etc.

REReader said...

Heh--but yeah, I can understand why he'd feel a bit like that.

Glad to hear his term's off to a good--or good enough--start.

By the way, Mycroft--if you'd like to discuss philosophy generally or ethics specifically (or religion, or really anything) but not in a comments thread, you can PM me on LiveJournal. Or not!
