Sorry, no question to answer tonight. Barely even a blog post.
Work is hard right now - difficult case, really taking it out of all of us. And I wasn't exactly on top form to begin with.
John's plotting something. He's persuaded Sally to babysit Sherlock and Mycroft (well, Mycroft is fairly self-sufficient.) I mean, I know why we're going out - or think I do - but no idea where or anything. I hope she survives. She's a good sergeant.
John is, as always, being amazing and supportive and just...brilliant. Despite that, I'm finding it slightly hard to cope with...everything, really. Which is hard to admit. I'm just used to being able to hide away on my own and that's not an option now.
And I imagine it's better for me to crawl into bed and have a hug than hide away cuddling the Scotch bottle anyway.
Speaking of which, I'm going to drag myself (and hopefully John) to bed.

I would say MUCH better.
And Sally will be fine. Whyever not?
Sleep well, L. Hopefully your surprise, and having everyone home this weekend will be...err just what the Doctor ordered.
You're too hard on yourself, Lestrade. I hope you've read John's post, and that it gives you a wonderfully warm fuzzy glow to accompany you to bed with your delicious Doctor. And I really hope you manage to get some decent sleep, and feel a bit better tomorrow.
I hadn't, but I just did. And...he's a very very special man, to think those things and say them, like that.
Thanks.
Sally is certainly a good sergeant, and John is a good boyfriend. You deserve all the good things. Just keep your head down; you'll make it through.
Sneaking on quickly from my phone to say I applaud you for quoting that gorgeous Billy Idol song in the title of your post. Will no doubt be cursing you shortly when said lovely song refuses to leave my head.
You're a good man. I hope you got some sleep.
I hope that the two of you get to have a lovely and relaxing weekend together, as well as spending some good time with the boys. Maybe that tail and riding crop will find their way out of their packaging....?
I posted this on John's blog already, but will put it here as well: My Little Danger and My Little DI. :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/77334973@N00/6351791643/
No fairy wings or actual bum pics yet, with my apologies to anyone waiting for either.
There's still time left in the month, though...
L - Just to say thinking of you today and whatever it may bring. Have a morning hug from me.
Lestrade can we make biscuits tonight because Mycroft is coming home tomorrow and also X I showed your picture to my school.
Danger, I wish you every ounce of luck at the school gates tonight. You should wear your Danger Sparkles jacket to ensure people recognise the look.
And yes, Sherlock, making biscuits for Mycroft would be a very nice thing to do.
Shall we do the chocolate swirly ones he likes? Or did you have something else in mind?
There, Lestrade, that ought to brighten your day! (It certainly did mine.)
Anything new on the pond front, Sherlock?
Can we do two kinds? Chocolate swirly and the shortbreads that you can cut into all different shapes. I'm not sure they would recognise the jacket because in the drawing you can't tell what it says unless you know but I can tell them just in case.
REReader, there aren't any frogs yet but we check all the time even though everyone says it's too cold. I'm going to draw a picture of it. With frogs.
Yeah, we can do two kinds. John, can you check to see if we've got everything? We might not have chocolate because I might have eaten it...
And Sherlock, you should definitely tell everyone about Danger's special personalised jacket. I'm sure they'll all be quite jealous.
By 'might have' I see you mean 'definitely did' ha. I'll get some more. Is there anything else? And do you want us to stop by after I get Sherlock from school?
And Sherlock...I hope you have Mrs T's permission to be on the computer and I will be asking her.
The darkest possible chocolate, please, Doc!
I don't want to be a pain in the arse, but is there a chance you could come down before you pick up Sherlock? Just because...well, just because I could do with a chat and it's not stuff he should hear and I know he'll be full on excited when I get home because Mycroft's coming home.
Speaking of...I can't get tomorrow off. I'll try to finish early, but are you okay fetching him by yourself?
Well, Sherlock, it's probably too cold for frogs, but you're quite right to keep checking because what if it's not yet? (When it freezes over, THEN it's definitely too cold.)
And I would really love to see a picture--with frogs. :)
Yes, of course. I can come now if you like?
Yeah, that's fine, don't worry about it. I imagine Anthea's got a car there, so I can take the tube up and drive back maybe.
Thanks. I've just spent all morning in the mortuary and... yeah, could do with giving you a hug.
John, please deliver a hug from me, too?
Here's another vote for "so glad you two have each other."
I'll be there as soon as I can, love.
Thanks.
I'm okay, I just don't want to be...down, later, for Sherlock. You know? So...
I don't even know what I'm trying to say.
Thanks.
Sherlock, that's very nice of you to take my picture to school to show everyone. Its true that you can't tell what it says on the jacket unless you know, so it's good that you explained it -- everyone here knows, of course, but people who don't read the blogs wouldn't.
L, I'm sending Internet hugs your way. This has to be a very hard case; I'm glad that you have Danger to hug and, later when you're feeling more yourself, an excitable Sherlock to bake with.
Oh, and Sherlock, I'm looking forward to your picture! When I was home last weekend, the goldfish were still happily swimming in my parents' pond -- I didnt see any frogs, nut that makes ms think it's not yet too cold!
Sherlock, I didn't say this yesterday because I was focused on answering your question, but I guess you miss your Grand-mere a lot. I'm sorry you don't have her now, but I'm glad you had her to do fun things with and to talk with so that you can remember her and what she said. It's like a part of her will always be a part of you.
Thanks, John. I really needed that.
Sherlock, if John's late to fetch you, apologise to Mrs t, and say it's my fault. He'll be there asap.
I know we say this quite often, but it never hurts to say it again: You and John are both good men in a difficult, sometimes harsh world. Sherlock and Mycroft are very lucky to have you in their lives.
Sherlock - Can you give "your DI" a lot of hugs tonight?
-A from NW
Don't you mean 'your little DI'?
Do you still believe you aren't going to find Little Pinies in your office tomorrow? :D
POnies!!!!!
Pretty sure no one's in the mood for it now, RR.
Sherlock, I'm leavung so are you ready to bake like a boss?
I'm sorry for that. No progress, then?
Enjoy the baking, anyway! (((hug)))
Chocolate swirly ones? Have you shared that recipe yet?
That was a very thoughtful idea, Sherlock. You're pretty good at those. :)
RR, yeah, there's progress. Doesn't really help much though.
DW - yes, but I'll link it again in tonight's blog later if you want?
And he is, isn't he? I got a big hug when I got in - well, my thigh did! John hugged higher up parts :)
No,.don't.worry. I'll stop being lazy and find it. :D
Higher than the thigh, huh? Did he get ink on his hands? ;P
Please forgive my errant full stops. I promise to review more closely.
I not only forgive, but fully understand, your full stops. I suffer the same affliction.
It's in some cooking related entry...something like 'if you can't stand the heat', or something, maybe?
Thanks. Something to do this weekend.
I see you avoided the ink on his hands question. What's the British version if the Fifth Amendment (the one that says you have the right not to incriminate yourself)?
Doesn't really help much though.
:( More hugs?
And maybe between Mycroft being home and John's surprise, you'll get some happy time this weekend anyway. :)
