Link Wray. More amazing guitar work. But the thing that makes this a 'John song' is that, despite having no lyrics, it was banned for 'glorifying juvenile delinquency'! And that's why it reminds me of John. Looks innocent on the surface, but somehow causes trouble anyway!
Leonard Cohen. The most amazing voice. The most amazing lyricist. Lots of people find his music depressing, but I love it. Could listen to his songs over and over. And do. What else can I say about this song, and John. I would do anything for him.
Fleetwood Mac. Because both our lives have changed for the better, and looking to the future is healthier than dwelling on the past.
The Troggs. The song really says it all. Under that calm unflustered exterior, he is a Wild Thing.

KHolly - it was just one of those times when you want everyone in the world to feel just a bit of the joy and happiness that you do. Perfect song for it. Makes you want to get up and dance. (And great guitar work, just as a bonus).
I really wanted to put 'Button Up Your Overcoat' on the list too, after I'd posted. Because it's such a John-song, worrying about people taking care of themselves!
I love Button Up Your Overcoat. I have a version of it by a woman called Nnenna Freelon who I saw perform live at a little club here. And I keep wanting to have someone I could put that on a mix for. I did recommend it to my sister for her playlist for her wedding reception this summer.

A bit - not as much as I'd like, because either I play out loud and inflict it on everyone else, or stick my headphones on and be anti-social. But I play more than I have for ages, because of the amp and headphones John bought me.
