Don't Be A Coconut

Right. ReReader asked if we'd be doing our effort instead of writing novels - which means posting every day, I think.

I'm not sure I have the brains to post every day! But I can try.

However, you lot need to suggest/ask/quiz/prod and generally give me some ideas. Anything. I will do my best not to be offended. Might even revive Lestallion's Upstanding Column of Love, if I get desperate.

Sherlock gleefully informed me, when I got home, that John and I could get married in a court. (An old one, converted into a hotel.) I think that's a bit much like work! I'll swear in instead of saying my vows...

Trying to plan somewhere to go and watch fireworks with Mycroft. And over the weekend Sherlock and I (and John, if he stops putting chilli in things) will make biscuits to take to him. And I've promised Sherlock some form of toffee-apple cake/pudding.

The atmosphere in the flat is still lethal to most forms of life, after John's relish earlier. Feel like my mucous membranes are melting. I'm amazed the degus survived.

It worked though! It's good. Sherlock's still miffed I wouldn't let him try it, but he tends to overestimate his tolerance for spicy things.

every day! good luck with that ;-)

There is way too much rain for bonfires and fireworks I hope it stops raining before Monday.

Well, I guess it's either this or Mo-vember! And of the two I'd rather you blogged everyday!

I thought about Movember... but a. I'd like John to marry me, not run for the hills. And b. I have to look vaguely presentable for work. (And c. I would look ridiculous.)

So instead...I shall, this month, donate my prostate and balls to Doctor Danger, for him to...errr...research. For science. Y'know?

Movember! That sounds a whole lot easier than all this writing...

Greg Lestrade said...

um...yes. That would be...yeah. I'm sure you'd look very distinguished.

John H. D. Watson said...

Ha. That was a very restrained response. Don't worry, I'm not really serious.

Greg Lestrade said...

I assure you, I can be restrained...

With moustaches?

You both managed to post every day in November last year! I checked. :)

(But don't feel you need to keep it up if it makes blogging too much of a chore. It's more important that it be something you want to do!)

Ideas, ideas, ideas...Right. I'll kick that off--how about your favorite quotation/saying and why it is? (Yes, not the most exciting...but it's just for starters!)

REReader said...

....and I just looked up the blog title--perfect! :D

Danger - you'd have to grow a long moustache to restrain me with it...

RR - I try!

How's the day going Greg? I hope its a little less crazy than yesterday :-)

Greg Lestrade said...

A bit less. Not much though.

REReader said...

:( Still, less is less, right?

Questions--Do you have any stories about meeting Sally or Molly? (Or if not aboutd eating them, about working with them?)

REReader said...

(That wasn't eating, it was MEeting!!!! About meeting them!)

Greg Lestrade said...

Yeah, I've already been in trouble for being too close to women, so let's not talk about me eating my workmates!

Yeah, less is less. Just been to see that family, explain why we aren't getting anywhere. Hard to walk around the city knowing whoever killed your son is somewhere out there.

REReader said...

I'm sorry. That had to be hard for you, too.

And now I'm off to a funeral for a young woman I've known her whole life--I even babysat her a few times, long ago. She passed away last night, and it's hard to take in. Cancer is the devil.

pandabob said...

That's a rubbish job for you to have to do Greg, I'm sorry the case isn't making progress :-(

Greg Lestrade said...

Hope shes remembered well, RR.

AnonyBob - it is rubbish, but it's important, too. I don't want them to feel like weve forgotten.

pandabob said...

That makes sense Greg and its good to know someone is keeping in touch with them.

I hope it goes ok RR.

Small Hobbit said...

Hopefully it will help a little bit, just to know they've not been completely abandoned.

Thinking of you RR.

Thanks, everyone. It was good--despite the fact that it's really hard to get in and out of Manhattan since the subway tunnels are still all flooded and there are restrictions on the bridges, the chapel was packed. She'll be missed.

Hey, ReRe, I missed this before - my condolences. I'm glad you friend was loved, and well-remembered.
